Technology and Life Sciences are having a significant impact on healthcare and education, but not in neurological disorders such as autism (ASD) and intellectual disabilities. Over $268 B was spent on autism services in 2015, projected to be $450 B by 2024. Less than 1% of that spending has gone towards NDD tech or life sciences research and development. Focus on human services has crowded out investments in tech and life sciences, yet a single piece of technology can help more effectively in some cases than multiple aides.
